A Glimpse into the Experience
Your dining experience at The Hillfoot can be quite varied, as reflected in customer reviews. Many patrons have praised the hospitality shown during special occasions, like family gatherings. For instance, Amy Bowman described a delightful Christmas meal where the management went the extra mile to accommodate her family. An arranged private setting enhanced their experience, allowing them to eat and celebrate together peacefully.
- Friendly staff: While many have highlighted the team's friendliness, there have been mixed experiences regarding service efficiency.
- Atmosphere: The spacious environment is generally welcoming and designed for relaxation, making it suitable for family outings.
- Menu offerings: Features a typical Sizzling Pubs menu, which includes classic dishes such as fish and chips and a variety of burgers.
Food – A Mixed Bag
The menu boasts typical pub fare, but the quality has received varied feedback. While some, like Mark Borthwick, enjoyed generous portions like the fish and chips, others have expressed disappointment. Lucy Draws recounted a less favorable experience where her burger arrived cold and burnt, leading her to wish for a quicker meal from a fast-food chain. There’s a strong call for improvement in consistency when it comes to the food prep, particularly on busy nights.
Key Highlights
- Sizeable Portions: Many have appreciated the ample serving sizes, especially the fish dishes, which are a staple for this pub.
- Kid-Friendly Options: Families can rejoice with a dedicated kids' menu and activities such as coloring.
- Pparking: Ample parking is available, particularly across at Asda, which aids busy nights.
Despite some areas needing attention, The Hillfoot - Sizzling Pubs remains a lively venue worth exploring. It fosters a family-friendly environment while serving comforting meals. Whether you're looking to celebrate a special event or simply enjoy classic pub favorites, this pub still holds its ground amidst the cheerful chaos of Liverpool dining.

We visited the Hillfoot in December for a family Christmas meal.We pre ordered our food and received prompt correspondence from management to confirm. There was of us and when we arrived the table had been set in a separate room which was unexpected but so hospitable, as it meant we could all spend time together to eat, drink and be merry! The staff were very friendly and welcoming (including the glass collector) but especially the new manager. Great service from him!Anything we needed was not too much trouble and they went the extra mile to make sure we had the best lunch. All of our food came out prompt and hot, not a single mistake given that there were of us.Starters, mains and desserts were all tasty. The quality of the food was above expectation for a Sizzling Pub!The children's menu is extensive and even caters for the fussy eatersI have visited the Hillfoot many times over the past years and have never had a bad experience here. Thanks again for all your helpKid-friendliness: Grabber machines available for the children to play on and win prizes.Wheelchair accessibility: Great accessibility. Always take my nan who is in a wheelchair

We arrived at : after reserving a table. We ordered our food at : , the food didn’t come until :. It wasn’t even busy , only about other tables. We both ordered a burger, they were burnt , cold and dry. Sone of the chips were still raw in the middle. Wouldn’t recommend at all , would’ve preferably spent £ on a McDonald’s.

Only getting one star because we got a car parking space. We booked a table and was greeted by no staff. There was no tables available and when we found one we had to tell a staff member to clean it. There was busy bar staff members seemed rushed off their feet that they served people whoever glanced at them the right way. Once getting one of the staff members attention we was greeted with ‘are you ordering food’ which we got told it was a min wait or longer. We could tell the place was busy and understaffed which isn’t the problem. But to have no greeting at the door or reserved tables etc for bookings which is awful. I expect if you make a booking in advance you should be greeted to a clean table at least by a member or staff rather than looking for an empty table.I have been to other sizzling pubs which are very attentive and do believe are good.I would not recommend coming to the hillfoot for food but some people may like to go for a drink.Me personally would not be going back to this place ever again.

First impressions of the pub wernt great. It was a massive red flag not having the hygiene rating appernt.Children running about the place.Staff were unkept and unprofessional, one of them appeared intoxicated and swearing at customers with a horrible and rude attitude.Ordering drinks was messy, drinks were served in the wrong glasses, and one of the drinks were wrong. After trying to find a clear table that wasn't sticky we gave up and settled for one that was cleared but sticky. We went to order food a regular mixed grill, a mega mixed grill and a curry house feast we were waiting minutes for a load of dissapointment, on the mega mixed grill the beef was cooked one one half but not the other the fries were cold chicken was dry and tasted of the carbon had the same issues on the the regular grill also the onion rings was like biting into a rubber condom. With the house curry platter the salad was dry and warm and not prepared properly the rice was bland but not too bad the chicken skewer was dry and cold the mango chutney was alright but the cucumber yoghurt was made with mayo that being a massive allergy risk as the rest of the Dish won't contain eggs and horrible and the curry was overall flavourless, the samosas were also flavourless and finally the popadom was soft and chewy quite a dissapointment for the best thing on the plate to be the mango chutney.Do not come here if you want food.
